Please be as comfortable with the songs as possible before you start recording.
Try and be memorized
If you need to use lyrics please have them PRINTED/WRITTEN out or up on a device screen in a size that is easy to see from a short distance. This should not be seen in your video recording.

Wear something that you feel great wearing!!!! Get dolled up!!!! Do your hair and makeup and put something on that you would wear in front of thousands of people.If you are questioning what you might wear feel free to ask me and we can talk about your options.
Please have good light (natural light from a window in front of you works great as long as it doesn't negatively affect your audio).
Choose a bright, unbusy background so we can see you. It’s OK for your background to look like you're at home (because we all are!), but make sure it is bright and not cluttered (avoid black/dark blue backgrounds and those with patterns and extensive decoration if possible).

YOU WILL NEED TWO(2) DEVICES.
- 1. Computer, Ipad, 2nd Smart Phone
- 2. Smart Phone
On DEVICE #1, Listen to the track with headphones/Earbud attached. WE suggest having one ear in and one ear off so you can hear yourself while you record.
On DEVICE #2 video yourself singing using the FRONT FACING camera ( a.k.a. The GOOD one not like a selfie where you can see yourself) No need for an app, just a regular phone video will do.
Please record horizontally (LONG WAY— ), not vertically, as if doing a self tape.
Please record from the chest or waist up; see “Example of Screen Framing” photo. Make sure you are in the center of the frame, with some space on either side of you.

HAVE FUN, SHARE YOUR ENERGY and STORY with the camera during the recording. When singing to the camera, look directly into the camera lense. Imagine your reaching through it to someone’s heart.
Please be mindful of singing volume. If singing volume is too loud at certain points in the recording, the sound may get fuzzy.
Please only video record your vocals acapella, do not add reverb or any filters. We will do all of that and add to the track in post production.

Feel free to be closer to the recording device so that we can pick up more sound
The drummer should be further away to get a wide shot and not as much sound.
If you have the option of plugging your instrument into a computer please contact me (angela) and i will send additional instructions on how to record.

You can upload directly from your phone.
Avoid texting or emailing videos to yourself if possible. (Example: to transfer video from phone to computer) If so please use AIRDROP or send a WeTransfer to yourself.
Please have all videos in by Friday May 8th @5pm!
