Broadway Inspirational Voices (BIV) proudly presents Rising With Purpose, our Annual Fundraiser Concert—an evening dedicated to celebrating the power of community and reaffirming our intentional, mission-centered vision for the future. Rising With Purpose is both a celebration and a call to action, honoring those who have stood beside us over the years while welcoming new members into the ever-growing BIV family.

A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the BIV Inspiration Award, which honors individuals whose compassion, humanity, and courage have made a meaningful impact on society. The BIV Inspiration honorees bravely share their truth through their work, leading with passion, integrity, and purpose. Their artistry and advocacy inspire us to engage our social and moral consciousness, strive for change, and find depth and beauty in all that we do.
This year’s honorees are Tony and Olivier Award-winning theatre and film producer Tom Kirdahy, and Tony and Grammy Award-winning, Emmy-nominated actress, singer, and producer Renée Elise Goldsberry.

This year, BIV will present the BIV Legacy Award to Stage director, Tony®, People’s Choice, Drama Desk and NAACP Award-winning actress, and Theater Hall of Famer Phylicia Rashad. The BIV Legacy Award honors a person whose artistry, genius and heart leave an everlasting impression that changes us forever, Ms. Rashad is the epitome of this. Her decades-long work and impact on the industry have shaped the lives of up-and-coming artists, provided educational opportunities, and have made her a household name with an extensive resume. We are honored to recognize Ms. Rashad for her work and to celebrate with her on this evening.

This fundraiser concert is designed to be an immersive experience—one that allows attendees to see, feel, and connect with where BIV is headed, and to commit to being an active part of our journey forward. Joined by members of the Broadway and music communities, the evening will offer a fresh and exciting musical experience that continues to showcase the full breadth and versatility of the BIV sound.

The night’s focus is threefold: honoring our distinguished recipients; uplifting members of our community whose work aligns deeply with BIV’s mission; and spotlighting our expanding Arts & Education programs, offering a glimpse into the impact and reach of this important next chapter. Anchoring it all will be high-energy, soul-stirring performances by the Broadway Inspirational Voices choir from start to finish.
