WATCH PARTIES are a great way to highlight certain content you are putting out OR highlight an event outside of your page. A local viewing area that you can invite people to and chat with them as you all watch the content. Create a chance o engage with your friends, fans, and audiences in a casual environment.
Check out this video on the technical ins and outs of starting a WATCH PARTY from your page, from another person or organization’s page, and from a mobile device.
SUGGESTED BEST PRACTICES
(For events NOT hosted on your own page)
Pre-Watch Party
Get the scoop on what content is in the video so you have some talking points in the chat.
If it’s a video where multiple acts other than yourself in the show, find out if there’s a running order so you can know where/when your performance (or performances) are going to be and you can pre-hype the watching audience in the chat!
Prior to the actual watch party, log in to FB Watch Party 5-10 minutes before to make sure there aren’t any tech issues.
IF the event has a scheduled live event already created, you can also go in early and schedule your watch party in advance. This allows you to get a direct link to the watch party.
IF the event is not pre-scheduled just invite people to your page at that correct time and they will see the watch party you start and join.
Watch Party Do’s
Welcome everyone in the chat. Keep it fun and light
Don’t be afraid to comment while the watch party’s going on! It will encourage people to engage while it’s happening!
You can switch between your personal profile and Page the watch party is on, but don’t forget to make sure to stay on primarily as the account that owns the Page the watch party is on.
Don’t forget to pay attention to DM’s to the primary account as well as notifications to the page
Be sure to stay on till the credits roll.
